For the first time ever, the SuperBook branches out and will not be confined solely to the Westgate in Las Vegas, as the home of the famous SuperContest will soon arrive in Colorado.
SuperBook announced on Monday that it will partner with The Lodge Casino in Black Hawk and enter the Colorado sports betting market. This comes just months after Colorado voted to legalize sports betting within the state.
While sports betting action is mostly on hold due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, Colorado’s Limited Gaming Control Commission has moved briskly to approve sports book licenses in the three casino cities of Cripple Creek, Black Hawk, and Central City.

Most notably, the success New Jersey has had via mobile betting. While all the paperwork is still in the process and pending approval for this, you can assume it will get done one way or another with an expansion this big.
The SuperBook team will be led by sports betting legend Jay Kornegay, who is a Colorado native and one of the most respected operators in the sports book industry.
“Having Jay Kornegay lead this exciting opportunity is an added benefit Colorado fans are sure to appreciate,” commented JJ Garcia, Vice President of Operations for The Lodge & Gilpin Casinos.
SuperBook Executive Vice President Jay Kornegay had the following to say in a statement about the expansion:
“We believe The Lodge is a perfect fit for our initial expansion opportunities outside Las Vegas,” Kornegay said. “We have maintained the highest levels of technology and service in a highly-regulated industry. We have written the playbook on sports betting in the United States, and now we will put it in action in Colorado.”

If you are a gambler and have been to Vegas to wager one sports, there is a good chance you’ve gone to the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino.
The Westgate SuperBook is also known for hosting the SuperContest, one of, if not, the biggest NFL betting contests in the country. The SuperContest brand could prove to be a huge asset if it gets approved by Colorado regulators. The $1,500 entry contest had thousands of entrants in 2019 and pays out the top-100 finishers. Last year’s winner collected a record payout of $1,469,644.80, per the SuperBook’s website.
Kornegay explained the SuperContest for Colorado (still pending) would be a standalone contest within the state’s borders and have an entry fee of $500, as opposed to the LV entry fee of $1,500.
On a side note, if you are unfamiliar with the SuperContest, here is a great story ESPN’s Ben Fawkes and David McIntyre wrote about its origin.
