There is no better feeling than arriving on a Sunday night to be able to enjoy the spectacular games offered by the NBA. This was especially true last night when there were unparalleled games with unexpected results.
Pelicans Overcome The Nuggets
Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram knew how to handle the game last night after scoring 30 points apiece to lead the New Orleans Pelicans past the Denver Nuggets 113-108, despite a triple-double achieved by Nikola Jokic. Nickeil Alexander-Walker added 20 points for the Pelicans. New Orleans was able to redeem itself as it won the finale of a road trip after dropping its first two games in Portland.
The on-fire Jokic got a total of 29 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists for his 52nd career triple-double. 11 of them were achieved on this current season; however, this couldn’t stop the great chemistry that Ingram and Williamson had during that game. Coming up next, the Pelicans return back home to receive the LA Lakers tomorrow night, while the Nuggets start a three-game trip against the Orlando Magic on the same night.

Meanwhile, Jayson Tatum managed to add 23 more points to help the Celtics overcome the Orlando Magic 112-96, snapping a three-game losing streak at the same time. The Celtics almost broke a franchise record, having scored 23 3-pointers, just one short of the all-time high. Individually, Brown nearly beat the record that Marcus Smart (11 3-pointers) currently holds with the team.
For Orlando, Nikola Vucevic scored 22 points and 13 rebounds. The team had a moment of glory last Friday against the Brooklyn Nets, as they were coming off a nine-game losing streak. The Magic will host the Denver Nuggets tomorrow night, while the Celtics will not rest and will visit the Memphis Grizzlies tonight.
Nets Take Down The Wiz
Kyrie Irving and James Harden scored 28 and 26 points, respectively, leading the Brooklyn Nets to a 113-106 victory over the Washington Wizards on Sunday night. Nicolas Claxton wanted to contribute his part and managed to score a total of 16 points, including two 3-point plays down the stretch.
On the other hand, even though it was not enough for a victory, Russell Westbrook took the game seriously and managed to get a triple-double. He scored 29 points, 13 rebounds, and 13 assists. As part of what’s coming next for both teams, the Wizards will visit the New York Knicks tomorrow and Thursday, and the Nets will visit the Portland Trail Blazers tomorrow night.
Considered one of the best and tightest games of the night, the Philadelphia 76ers and New York Knicks had to go into overtime to determine a winner. With just 5.3 seconds left in OT, Tobias Harris emerged as the savior after making two free throws to help the Sixers beat the Knicks 101-100. Danny Green also played a big role during overtime, as he hit a couple of 3-pointers to give Philadelphia a 96-93 lead.

Suns Overcome LeBron-less Lakers
The Phoenix Suns’ offense made an unexpected result shine like never before. Deandre Ayton and Devin Booker both got 26 points, while the unstoppable Chris Paul had a triple-double with 11 points, 13 assists, and 10 rebounds, helping the Suns beat the LA Lakers 111-94 on Sunday night.
It is also possible that this result is due to the absence of LeBron James, who suffered a hygienic ankle sprain during the game against the Atlanta Hawks last Saturday. Tomorrow, the Lakers will fly to New Orleans to take on the Pelicans and the Suns will visit the Miami Heat.
