Two MLB Games Top Monday’s List

Two MLB Games Top Monday’s List

The week gets off to a start with a lot of MLB action waiting for sports fans and bettors. Out of all of them, though, two games offer a lot more interest.

Mets Need Some Help Against the Brewers

The New York Mets, the most expensive team in baseball, have struggled greatly, losing 15 out of their last 20 games. They’ve fallen to fourth in the NL East, trailing the Atlanta Braves by 15 games. Despite being among the top four teams with a chance to win the World Series, they are currently struggling with seven games below .500. With an underwhelming performance, a considerable section of fan followers have lost interest in the ongoing season.

The Milwaukee Brewers won their game against the Cleveland Guardians in extra innings on Sunday and are currently trailing the lead in the NL Central by just under half a game. The NL Central is currently the most fiercely contested division in baseball. Despite the St. Louis Cardinals being last with a record of 32-45, they are only 8.5 games behind the division leader.

The Brewers may be able to boost their position in the rankings by winning all four games against the dominant Mets in preparation for their upcoming four series against divisional rivals.

Milwaukee’s rotation faced injury woes with Brandon Woodruff, Wade Miley and Eric Lauer out of action. Filling in is Colin Rea, a previous one-game player in the 2021 MLB season before moving on to play in Japan. Rea’s performance statistics, particularly his 28 xERA, place him in the lower echelon of the league in the majority of categories. The Brewers are currently only looking for a pitcher who can provide them with roughly five innings of play.

The Brewers have been able to find success lately and will continue as they face the Mets.

Braves On The Rise Against the Twins

On Monday night, the Braves will face off against the Minnesota Twins at Truist Park, bringing together the leaders of both divisions.

AL Central’s lowest-ranked division in baseball sees Minnesota in first place with a two-game lead over the Guardians. While the Twins’ performance has been average so far this season, winning the division could secure their spot in the playoffs. Sonny Gray, one of their top pitchers, will lead the charge as they strive to defend Spencer Strider.

The Braves had a thrilling run against the Cincinnati Reds, with an explosive trio of games and 47 collective points. Although their pitching struggled, the dynamic Braves still managed to make their way to eastern Newfoundland thanks to their standout offense, which stands as one of the tops in baseball.

The Braves dominate the East despite various injuries to their players. They are the most highly regarded team in baseball and have emerged victorious in nine of their last ten matches, placing the Twins at a severe disadvantage.

The Twin’s batting order has performed moderately and their triumphs have mostly been against right-handers. Their wRC rank against right-handed pitchers is 12th, while it falls to 27th against left-handers, so it’s fortunate that they are facing more right-handed pitchers.

As long as the Braves can continue to follow their pattern of success, they’re in a good position to run over the Twins. However, this is anything but a lock, as Minnesota has taken four of its last five games. One of these was a 6-0 shutout against the Boston Red Sox. Still, given the choices, the Braves are going to be able to stay ahead in tonight’s game.
