The New York Yankees may not have been able to beat the Chicago White Sox in the Field of Dreams Game last week, but they’ve recovered since then. They won both games against the White Sox over the weekend, which helped sports bettors improve their stats, and it’s now time to move on. The Yankees face the LA Angels today in just one of the hot MLB games on tap.
Yankees and Angels Do Battle
The Yankees (65-52) and Angels (59-60) are making up a game that wasn’t played on July 1 due to rain. Since the All-Star Game, the Yankees are 19-9 and continue to run strong, despite the occasional slip. The Angels are 3-6 across their last nine and are headed in the opposite direction. This game has the Yankees written all over it.
The Yankees are getting -250, which probably won’t have a lot of interest for most sports bettors. The run line, however, is a good option at -1.5 (-120) for the Yankees. In their last five games, the Angels are 1-4 with a -15 run differential, and the Yankees run line should be easy money. The MLB Over/Under stands at 8.5, and taking the Over (-115) – thanks to the expected Yankees’ performance – is a bonus.

The Baltimore Orioles (38-78) aren’t having a good season. They would like to turn things around, even if it is almost too late, and meet the Tampa Bay Rays (71-47) today on that quest. Both teams are coming off weekend losses that could be a hint that today’s game is going to be closer than some may have anticipated.
The O’s are not getting much support from the books and are currently listed at +180. However, if Matt Harvey can settle on the mound for Baltimore, the Orioles have a chance at pulling off the win. Harvey hasn’t had a lot of good luck, lately, but could be about to turn things around. The run line, +1.5 (+110) for the O’s would, then, be a great score. Most oddsmakers are predicting the Over/Under of 8.5 to be even, which is another reason Baltimore might actually have a chance.
Padres and Rockies Back At It
The San Diego Padres (67-53) are facing the Colorado Rockies (52-66) again today. So far, the Rockies have proven to be the much stronger team, having won seven of the ten contests between these two this season. The Padres appear to be in a slump and, even though they’ve already secured a Wild Card spot, they aren’t performing well at the plate.
Despite the troubles, the Padres are favored to win today and are getting -135 against the Rockies’ +115. However, with the history between these two, a Fernando Tatis, Jr. that is trying to figure out right field and big misses against inferior teams recently, backing the underdogs is a better choice. That also means backing the Rockies on the +1.5 (-130) run line. The Over/Under is up to 12.5, but the Padres haven’t shown that they can put up big numbers. Backing the Under (-110) will give a little bit of a gain.
