Tonight will feature two exciting matchups between teams from Philadelphia and Houston, starting with Game 5 of the 2022 World Series and Thursday Night Football from NRG Stadium.
Astros Clash With Phillies For Game 5
The Houston Astros and Philadelphia Phillies meet for the final game of the 2022 World Series at Citizens Bank Park, with the series tied 2-2. In last night’s contest, four Houston pitchers combined for the second no-hitter in World Series history as the Astros took a 5-0 victory. It was the first no-hitter in the championship series since Don Larsen’s perfect game for the New York Yankees in the 1956 Fall Classic.
Cristian Javier pitched six hitless innings, with nine strikeouts and two walks to start the game. He then gave way to Bryan Abreu, Rafael Montero, and Ryan Pressley, who pitched one hitless inning apiece in securing the no-no. Alex Bregman had two doubles and two RBIs at the plate for Houston, and Jose Altuve raised his postseason average to .278 with a single and a run scored.

Noah Syndergaard will start for the Phillies in Game 5. His last appearance was in Game 4 of the NLCS against the Padres in relief, where he gave up two hits in 1.1 innings. His previous start was in the deciding game of the Division Series against Atlanta, where he gave up one run in three innings pitched.
Houston wins to take a 3-2 series lead.
Eagles Hope To Stay Perfect Against Texans
The Philadelphia Eagles and Houston Texans will battle tonight in the NFL as Thursday Night Football comes to NRG Stadium for the start of Week 9. The Eagles remain the only undefeated team in the league at 7-0 and are coming off a 35-13 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers last Sunday. They hope to extend their lead in the NFC East to two games over the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants in the division standings with a win tonight.
The Texans are struggling again this season at the bottom of the AFC South Division with a 1-5-1 record. They’re looking for their first win at home against the best team in the NFC and will need their best performance of the season if they hope to compete for a victory tonight. They were 17-10 losers at home last Sunday against the Tennessee Titans, dropping them to 0-2-1 at home.

They’re 16th in the league in passing yards per game, giving up 217.6 per contest. However, averaging 16.6 points on offense won’t be enough to beat this Eagles team, no matter how well the defense plays tonight.
Houston’s defense is last in the NFL in rushing yards per game and gave up over 300 yards on the ground to the Titans last week. Philadelphia is third in both points per game (28) and total yards per game (395.4) in 2022. They’re also sixth in the league in rushing, averaging 149.6 yards this season.
The Eagles get the win to keep their perfect record.
