MLB Lineup Tonight Offers Nice Options

Now that the NBA Finals have wrapped up and the Milwaukee Bucks have captured their second championship in 50 years, it’s time to explore what’s going on in other sports. The NFL season will be here soon, but the MLB season is now in full swing. It’s been another interesting year for baseball, with new rules – mostly controversial – coming to the league. There are a few games in the MLB lineup today that should keep fans and bettors happy as the MLB season continues to progress, somewhat normally.

Padres Face the Marlins

The San Diego Padres have been having a decent year, even if it isn’t what the team had hoped for. They’re at 56-42 going into tonight’s game against the Miami Marlins, who are 41-55, and are looking for their sixth win in six games to break even. The Marlins, however, have lost four of their last five and are beginning to struggle more.

The Padres have brought in 11 men in three games and Jake Cronenworth is on fire. He has 100 hits and 40 RBI so far, while Manny Machado and Fernando Tatis Jr. have totaled for 175 hits and 131 RBI. With those kinds of stats, the Padres are showing that they have a strong squad to attack the plate and shouldn’t have any difficulty today. They’re getting -144 on the moneyline with a spread of -1.5 (+115), which will be easy money.

Braves and Phillies Struggle

The Atlanta Braves and the Philadelphia Phillies are both having a bad year. The Braves are at 46-58, while the Phillies are at 47-47, and both teams are looking at how to make some trades to shore up their squads. This is the first game of a four-game set in Philly, but the action gives bettors some enticing options.

The moneyline points to the Braves at -155, while the Phillies are getting +125. The Braves have the upper hand because of their starting pitcher, Charlie Morton, who is 8-3 with a 3.69 ERA. Starting for the Phillies is Matt Moore, currently at 0-1 and a 5.25 ERA. The moneyline only has a little bit of a reward for MLB betting and the spread, at -1.5 (+105) for the Braves, will give a little more. The Over/Under, however, is the target. At 9 (+100), taking the Under is the way to go.

San Fran Takes a Short Road Trip

The San Francisco Giants are traveling to take on the LA Dodgers tonight, which won’t be a difficult journey. The two teams are on the right side of the scoring, with the Giants sporting a 60-35 record and the Dodgers sitting on 59-38, and this could be a tight game, as long as the Giants can keep their heads on straight.

This is the fourth game of a four-game series between the two, with the Giants ahead 2-1. Starting on the mound for the Giants is Anthony DeSclafani, who has been impressive this season. He’s 10-4 with an ERA of 2.78, but there’s one problem. Against the Dodgers, he’s 0-2. It’s partly because of that performance that the Dodgers are getting the advantage, with oddsmakers putting them at -175 against the Giants’ +145. The spread is, as usual, at 1.5, which doesn’t offer a lot of interest. The Over/Under, however, at 7.5, is a good spot for a unit or two. The Under has hit consistently in most games involving these two and, as a bonus, is 11-2-2 across 15 games for LA when playing against a right-handed starter. DeSclafani fits nicely into that category.
