The Wednesday night action in the NBA was intense and showed what happens when you put power with power. Some of last night’s action didn’t go the way many had expected, but it definitely kept things interesting.
Nets Get Irving Back
A star trio has returned now to the Brooklyn Nets but the team still lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday night, 135-147. Kyrie Irving has returned after taking some time and it seems like the new-look Nets will need some, too. Joining Kevin Durant and James Harden, Irving managed to score 37 points in this first game, but they couldn’t handle the on-fire Cleveland’s Collin Sexton, who got 42 points (four 3-pointers) and led his team to an important win. The Brooklyn’s trio combined 96 points, but it wasn’t enough to outlast Sexton and the exotic defense thrown by the Cavs. These teams are hanging around each other as they’ll play again on Friday night.
The Philadelphia 76ers managed to pass the Boston Celtics 117-109, with Joel Embiid scoring 42 points and getting 10 rebounds on Wednesday night. Tobias Harris also made his contribution after scoring 22 points and leading the Sixers to a victory. Since starting his career, Embiid has now topped 40 points for the second time in three games, and added the following words, “If they double, we’ve got way too many shooters for me to be able to kick it out. I can attack in a different style. It’s been working well.” After Ben Simmons only scored 11 points, coach Doc Rivers said that he is not concerned about his stats, but definitely needs more than what he’s giving the team.

Coming next, the Celtics and Sixers are back at it on Friday in Philly.
Clips Take Five Straight
The LA Clippers are on fire, achieving their season-high fifth straight win and beating the Sacramento Kings, 115-96. Kawhi Leonard with 32 points and Paul George adding 19 were part of the contribution to get this victory and keep the top spot in the league for the Clippers.
George was able to tie his career-high with 12 assists to go with a team-high six turnovers and afterward said, “I got to be better and take care of the ball a lot better, but for me, it’s fun. It’s not going to be perfect, but I thrive being on the floor and trying to make my teammates better.”
For the Kings, De’Aaron got a total of 25 points of which 17 were scored in the first half. Glenn Robinson III added some extra 14 points off the bench, while Buddy Hield scored 13 points. This team is now hosting the New York Knicks on Friday and the Clippers will host Oklahoma City on the same day.
Suns Set On Rockets
On Wednesday night, Deandre Ayton scored 26 points and 17 rebounds as the Phoenix Suns took out the Houston Rockets. The Rockets couldn’t handle it, as the final result was 109-103. The Suns are shining again after winning for the first time since January 9. Three games, between the two losses, were postponed due to health and safety protocols after they played at Washington. After this victory, Ayton was very proud about the way the team fired back when Houston was cutting the lead, saying, “I did what I was supposed to tonight (and) as a whole team … we really settled down and locked in at the end and closed the game out the way we should,”
