Call me crazy, but I like the Thunder in this spot here for our NBA picks for Aug 29. First, the public is absolutely hammering the Rockets. I always like that, as I am a contrarian. When it comes to the matchup, here are a few things that stick out:
Houston is turning the ball over at a high rate, 13.9%. The three guard lineup that the Thunder put out there with SGA, CP3 and Schroder is doing well against them and forcing them to turn it over.
All three of those guys are also shooting the ball much better now and also forcing mismatches when they are on offense. I look for both of these mentioned things to continue in this game.
Lu Dort is another big x-factor. His defense against James Harden has been stellar. If you remember, he missed the early part of his series, and that is when Harden went off. Since then, he is making it tough for Harden to do his thing.
