The Rams Look For A Tough Win Against The Raiders on Thursday Night Football

Thursday Night Football features a west coast matchup between the Las Vegas Raiders and Los Angeles Rams. Both teams look to improve in their divisions in the NFL’s first matchup of Week 14.

Raiders Go For Fourth Straight Win

The Raiders are one of the hottest teams in the NFL, with three straight victories, including their last two on the road. They have a 5-7 record and are third in the AFC West behind the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Raiders came from behind to score 17 straight points in that game. They held the Chargers on their final two drives to take a 27-20 victory and even up their season series at one game apiece.

Las Vegas comes into this game ranked ninth in the NFL in passing yards per game with 241.5 and are 11th in rushing with 125.4 yards per contest. Their 24.3 points per game puts them ninth in the NFL in scoring offense. However, the Raiders are 26th in the league in scoring defense, giving up 24.7 points per game.

Las Vegas has been decimated by injuries this season, with ten players currently on injured reserve. They will also be without several players tonight, including LB Jaylen Brown and CB Rock Ya-Sin. In addition, RB Josh Jacobs is listed as questionable with a quad injury.

Derek Carr has had a productive season so far for the Raiders, with 2,980 passing yards and 20 touchdowns. His 60 QBR is ranked eighth in the league. Josh Jacobs is the NFL’s leading rusher with 1,303 yards and is third with ten rushing touchdowns. Davante Adams is currently the fourth-best wide receiver in the NFL with 1,176 yards on 79 receptions and is first in the league in touchdown catches with 12.

Rams Hope To Avoid Seventh Straight Loss

The Rams start the week at the bottom of the NFC West Division with a 3-9 record and have lost six games in a row while averaging just 16 points per game during that stretch. They came close to a victory in their last game against the Seattle Seahawks but couldn’t survive a late drive led by QB Geno Smith, who threw a touchdown to DK Metcalf as time ran out in the fourth quarter.

Los Angeles has also had its share of injuries this season, with 13 players currently on the injured reserve, including Matthew Stafford, who is out for the season with a spinal contusion. Cooper Kupp had surgery on his ankle and will be out for at least another four weeks. Aaron Donald is also out for tonight’s game, and backup quarterback John Wofford is listed as questionable.

The Rams just picked up Baker Mayfield from the Carolina Panthers, a day after he was dropped from the team. However, he’s nowhere near up to speed on successfully leading the Rams.

Stafford is still the passing leader for the Rams this season, with 2,087 yards, ten touchdowns, and eight interceptions. Cam Akers is the top rusher for LA with 334 yards and three touchdowns but averages just 3.3 yards per carry.

Kupp had his season cut short but still managed to catch 75 balls for 812 yards and six touchdowns before going down with an injury. Unfortunately, the Rams don’t have the weapons on either side of the ball to be competitive in this game, as they rank 31st in the league with 283.1 yards per game and are scoring just 16.8 points on average per contest.

The Raiders keep their playoff hopes alive with an easy win on the road.
